My "Man"

Wow, that is about all I can say to the statement that came out of my sweet baby today! As we are leaving Nana's house to head home, my hands were overflowing with all of your bags...nigh nigh, clothes, backpack, toys, toys, toys... My dearest little boy jumps in front of  me and grabs the front glass door and steps aside to hold it open! My "mommy meter" was dinging off the charts! My thoughtful 3yr old just held the door so gentleman like for his mommy! So I went above and beyond...."Wyatt, that was so very incredibly sweet of you to hold the door open for your mommy. I am so proud of you.  You are such a little gentleman.  Wyatt, mommy is so proud of you, and I love you" were the words of praise I was giving on the walk to the car.  We're almost to the car as I turn around to get a glimpse of MY wonderfully thoughtful, sweet, kindhearted little man. He stands at the end of the walkway with one hand on his hip, and with a "seriously mom" sarcastic face, and an added deep manly tone to his voice says, "It's cause I'm a MAN." And he then casually saunters past me and hops up in his car seat and buckles in. Really.....If that wasn't his dad in the flesh!! Were did my sweet innocent baby go?? How did I miss the transformation?? Were have I been? All I could do is laugh....and I did, all the way home!

You Make My Heart Melt

Ugh!! A long work day where items weren't ordered as needed, patients decided to show up super early, and all  end up backed up worse than a septic line....And to top it off, after the long work day, I had a training session to attend.  So here I am, tired and fatigued, headed off to Nana's to pick up my baby.  The drive is longer than usual, I can barely keep my eyes open, and trying to focus to stay in between the lines on the road was out of the question.  "Lord please let me make it..." Finally, driveway in sight, I pull in and practically fall out of the car to make it to the door. I make it up to the door, turn the handle, and with the first sound of the door seal breaking...I hear it!! The beautiful sound of a herd of elephants stampeding towards the door! With a smile larger than a "thumbnail moon" and arms wider than the Grand Canyon, He says, "Mommy, you're here!" And wraps those powerful arms around my legs! In that split second, You-my sweet dear baby, melt my heart and wash ALL the long day away! "So dudely, tell me all about your day!"
XOXO

To Wyatt:
My dear sweet baby, well your getting to be a big boy-now 3...what is it I always say to you, "You will always be my baby"! This is for you. A "book" of  your stories you will be able to read and share with your own family one day! The title was simple. Family...the most important and cherished entity on this earth. And 'Ohana because this house is all about Disney, so it all just fits.

As I sit here after tucking you in, and "sleep here 5 minutes", my heart overflows with amazing love.  You truly add a skip to my step, and put a song in my heart!

On to the good laugh of the day. Today was D-day as I have deemed it (Daddy, Destruction, and Dirt Bike). Around 10:30am I received a text at work from your dad, "Call me when you get a chance." So I grab the phone, never knowing what to expect, and dial.
Dad, "So I finally got the question today."
Mom, "What question.?"
Wyatt (to his dad), "Why do you stand up to pee?"
     Dad, "Cause I have a ding-a-ling"
Wyatt, "Why do grills (girls) have different ding-a-lings?"
Dad, "Because that's how God made them."
Wyatt, "Well why do grills sit down to pee?"
Dad, "Because they're ding-a-lings are shaped different."
Thank goodness you were satisfied with that answer! There is no telling where that could have gone! I was laughing so hard on the phone at work, I had tears in my eyes. You keep us on our toes, that is for sure! And this is exactly why you need a "book of your stories"; because I don't know if you would believe us otherwise! I love you forever...
